Greyson Chappel, De Soto High School Class of 2023, was recently drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 18th round. Chappel made his professional pitching debut this week on Thursday, August 9, with the Tri-City Dust Devils, an Angels organization.

In 2026, Chappel threw 43.1 innings for the University of Central Missouri, striking out 52 with a 2.91 ERA. He was one of nine D2 players drafted and one of three D2 pitchers drafted.
