The DHS Band Boosters organization is open to all parents and supporters of Instrumental Music Students and Dance Team Members.  This group of parents meets twice a year with the sole purpose of supporting our students and their musical endeavors.  There are no fees, no attendance requirements - just the willingness to be involved and informed!  Members help chaperone trips, festivals, and events, oversee student fundraisers, coordinate receptions, staff booster club's concessions, and help with uniforms, music, and instruments.  The DHS Band even has its own cheering section at Football Games!

Letter from the 2023-24 President – Jennifer Lange

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to our Band Family!

The DHS Band Booster Club supports our students and staff and we have a great time!  As a group, we participate in chaperoning football games, marching events, and help with our fundraisers.  We also provide band dinners before concerts and volunteer at adjudicated events.  And…we dress the band with our fabulous uniform committee.  There are so many ways to become involved, and we need you!  You will be amazed at how your student improves musically over the next year and those of you whose children previously could not walk and chew gum will be marching in step with a few hundred of their closest friends.  It is truly an amazing transformation!

Please don't feel overwhelmed by the enormity of the handbook.  We are here to help you…and we are fun!  Please feel free to call or email with questions and for all you new parents, it will REALLY HELP to come to the new parents' meeting in May.  Also, please come to the Annual Sneak Peek Concert at the end of Band Camp in August for a quick meeting and find out important information for the upcoming season.  Please bring your calendar as you will also have the opportunity to sign-up for activities throughout the year.

As a parent, we have always thought that the most important benefit of the band was providing your child with a supportive peer group.  The band is home to academically motivated students and the nicest kids in the school.  The band truly becomes a family for these kids and they will make lifelong friends in the band.  After band camp, they will walk into school and already have friends--friends that will help them find classes if they are lost, and sit with them at lunch if they are alone.

We look forward to a great year filled with fantastic music, great friends, and memories in the making.  See you soon!

Jennifer Lange
